The sales data is in for the week of June 17th has seen the Vita have an 56% sales increase. This increase is likely attributed to the release of shin Megami Tensei Persona 4! This should shut the mouths of those who claim that handheld gaming or the PSVita is dead.

mmm...well, since then: 2.2 million Vitas have been sold since it's release--only 400,000 sold in the last quarter, which is less than half the amount of PSP's that were sold in the same timeframe...1 million PSP's were sold.

yea, it's been going downward. It seems sony has forgotten to appeal to their Home country. Japan was their strong arm last gen

yeah--but they need more than sales in Japan to stay afloat...US is the larger market--and I don't think I've seen a PS Vita commercial in WEEKS...which shows they're not even getting the advertising they once were

true its not the biggest market, but Japan almost single handedly put the Wii in the number 1 spot this gen. I just feel the PS brand sort of lost it's identity this gen and went more western, and as a result, fans of PS1 and 2, like me, didn't buy in to PS3

it doesn't help that since Sony charges SO much for their systems... regardless of superiority graphically, etc, people aren't gonna pay $600 for a console at launch--OR a handheld for $250+
learn from Nintendo, Sony, you can't peddle your handheld for THAT price with a lacking lineup of games, and expect to SELL...and NOT do a price drop, which they probably won't be doing anytime soon, and they'll be suffering until then
